Eric Schugars
Varsity Head Coach
Coach Schugars is a native of Muskegon, Michigan and received his undergraduate degree from Western Michigan University and his Master's degree from Central Michigan University. This is Eric’s eighth season as Varsity Head Coach and 21st season with the Trojan Football program. Under Coach Schugars, the Trojans have gone 62-16, winning five conference championships, three District Championships, two Regional Championships, with one State Runner-Up finish last season. He currently teaches Economics and Civics at Traverse City Central High School. Eric is married to his beautiful wife, Carissa; together they have three children, two daughters, Hayden (14) and Teagan (8), and a son, Talan (13). He attributes his love for coaching to his father, Jack, a Hall of Fame coach and three-time state champion at Muskegon Oakridge High School.
Tim Odette

Coach Odette enters his eighth season as a member of the TC Central football coaching staff. This is his 24th season coaching high school football. He has coached for multiple programs with his most recent stop being Muskegon Oakridge prior to joining the Trojans. Coach Odette is married to Sarah and has two daughters and a son: Brynn (13), Elyn (11), and Grayson (7). He is a graduate of Central Michigan University and is a Social Studies teacher at TC Central High School.
Doug Gle

Strength & Conditioning Coordinator
Coach Doug Gle is a 20 year veteran of the TC Central football coaching staff . Doug has also been a teacher at TC Central for the past 19 years. Coach Gle has a master’s degree from Western Michigan University in Exercise Science. He is a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, a USA weightlifting club coach and he has worked previously as a strength and conditioning coach at Eastern Michigan and the University of Northern Iowa. He was the National High School Strength and Conditioning Association Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year. Doug and his wife Dawn are the parents of three children, Carter (13), Brady (11) and Megan (9).
Mike Gle

Coach Gle is entering his 16th year as a member of the TC Central football coaching staff. He is also entering his 16th year as a teacher at TC Central High School where he teaches Physical Education. Mike is a graduate of Brighton High School (‘97) and Hope College (‘02) where he was a member of two MIAA Championship teams and set school records for touchdown receptions. Mike and his wife Taffetta have three sons, Trent (13), Tripp (10), and Cade (8).

Coach Jack Schugars is a Muskegon High School Alumni and graduate of Western Michigan University and Michigan State University. Jack coached for 42 years at Muskegon Oakridge High School and one year at Grand Rapids Community College. For the past 7 years, Jack has been Special Teams Coordinator for the Ferris State University Bulldogs, Division 2 National Semi-Finalist.
Jack's wife of 49 years, Julie, tragically passed away last August. Jack and Julie raised two children, Eric (Head TCC Football Coach) and Amanda (Matt) Lynn, and have the blessing of 6 grandchildren.
2021 begins Jack's 53rd year of coaching!

Defensive Coordinator/Linebackers
Coach Forlenza begins his 33rd year of coaching high school football, returning last season for his second stint assisting at Central High. A Flint Powers Catholic grad, Coach Forlenza was an assistant at Traverse City St. Francis for 25 seasons, 21 of those as the Varsity Defensive Coordinator. During his time leading the defense St. Francis made the state playoffs 20 times appearing in 11 state semifinals, with six finals appearances and winning 5 state championships. Coach Forlenza has watched over 30 former players go on to compete in football at the FBS,FCS, or Division 2 level, with four playing in the National Football League. Joe and his wife Julie, a TCAPS elementary teacher, will soon celebrate 34 years of marriage and have three daughters: Stacie, Devin (Corey, granddaughter Marley) and Brin.
Konrad Visser

Coach Visser is entering his 35th season of coaching football. He is also a track coach at TC Central and has taught there for the past 35 years. Coach Visser also teaches German as an adjunct professor at NMC. He is married to Diana and together they have two children, Franciska and Christopher.
Evan Windholz

Coach Windholz is entering his 10th season as an assistant coach in the Trojan football program. Coach Windholz loves the game of football and the valuable life lessons that it teaches our young men. He is married to his long time partner, Karen, and he is father to Alex, in his senior year at Michigan State, and Kathryn, a sophomore at Traverse City Central.
Lenny Brinson
Varsity Assistant Coach
Native of Flat Rock, MI. Attended Alpena Community College and Eastern Michigan University.
This will be my 3rd year volunteering and helping Coach Gle with the offensive line.
Previous football coaching experience:
I got my start in the Detroit Catholic League with Southgate Aquinas as the head JV and Varsity assistant coach, Woodhaven High School as the Varsity Defensive Coordinator, Offensive and Defensive Line Coach. After moving to Traverse City I helped with other varsity football coaches in the area with the formation and the start of the Pop Warner Youth Football Program in Northern MI which is still going strong today. I held various positions with TC West as Head JV Coach and varsity Offensive Line coach, and took over overseeing our Jr High football program. In 2009 I was selected to coach in our MHSFCA High School All Star Football Game held at MSU. I retired in 2012 after 28 seasons. Married to my best friend and wife of 41 years Lynn, we have 2 adult sons Jeff (a Trojan) and Marcus (a Titan) and 3 special Granddaughters.
Tyler Mills
JV Head Coach
Coach Mills is entering his third year as head coach of the JV program and his 7th year with the TC Central football coaching staff after playing for the Trojans from 2000-2002. Since his years as a player, Coach Mills has gone on to start a family with his wife Erin. Together they have two sons, Braylon (9) and Landon (5). Tyler and Erin own and operate their family owned roofing company, Mills Construction Services, out of Traverse City. Tyler is very excited to be a part of the Trojan family and looks forward to the opportunity to help lead and develop the kids in the program to become successful both on and off the football field.
Mike Kolanowski

This year Coach K returns as a Junior Varsity Assistant Coach. This will be his eighth year coaching within the TC Central Football Program and his tenth overall. Mike has also coached within the Trojan Baseball Program as a Varsity Assistant from 2012-2015. Mike is a graduate of Manistee High School (‘04) and Hope College (‘09) with a B.A. in Physical Education, and double minor in Health and Psychology Education. He currently is a Physical Education teacher within Tcaps. Coach K played college football at Hope College as a linebacker and punter. He currently lives in Williamsburg with his wife Lauren and their son Brady.
Alec Moulton

Wide Receivers
Coach Moulton is entering his fourth season with the TC Central football coaching staff. He was born and raised in Midland, MI and after graduating high school went on to Western Michigan University where he played football as a wide receiver for four years and graduated with a finance degree. Alec is currently a financial advisor with Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in Traverse City.
Kelly Clark
JV Assistant
Defensive Backs
Coach Clark played defensive back for the Trojans and was the defensive captain of the 1988 State Championship team. After high school, Coach Clark played 4 years of Varsity football at Hope College, where he still holds the career interception record. He also spent a year as a graduate assistant at Hope. After college, Coach Clark and his wife, Julie, moved to Traverse City. He coached for the Trojans as a sophomore coach and varsity assistant before serving as head coach from 2000-2007. Coach Clark and his wife have 3 students in TCAPS. Kennedy and Kaden are seniors at Central. Cooper is entering 8th grade at East Middle School. Besides volunteering to coach football, Coach Clark is a Realtor for The Mitten Group brokered by eXp and works part time as an agent for American Airlines so he and his family can travel the world
Will Livingston

Will Livingston has been a part of the TC Central football coaching staff since 1999. Will is a former player and a student at Traverse City Senior High. Will is currently working on his Masters degree in Special Education and currently works as a security guard at TC Central. Will and his wife Sarah have three kids, Elijah, Damon and Lilah.
Kurt Neveau
Freshman Assistant Coach
This is Kurt’s fifth season on the TC Central football coaching staff working with the offensive line and as defensive coordinator. He's entering his third year as a Special Education Teacher at TCC after working previously at TC West Senior High and East Middle School and also Northport Public School as a special education teacher. Kurt has also coached baseball for 14 years, at Bay City Western and Traverse City West. He is a graduate of Saginaw Valley State University (secondary education) and Ferris State University (special education). Kurt was a member of two GLIAC League Championship baseball teams at SVSU. Kurt and his wife of 12 years, Lee, have three children; twin boys – Alex and William (9) and a daughter, Delaney (5).
Amy Ream
Athletic Trainer for Trojan Football
Amy is a graduate of Central Michigan University with a Sports Medicine degree. She is a Licensed Athletic Trainer and a Certified Athletic Trainer that is employed by Munson Medical Center. Through Munson, she has worked with the Traverse City Central Trojans for the last 33 years. Amy and her husband Rob have two daughters, Ondrea, and Sarah.
